EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team picked up two more All-American awards scoring 9.5 points as
Braden Rose earned his second All-American in as many days finishing second in the discus and
Jordan Dale finished in a tie for seventh in the high jump.
After placing second in the hammer throw on Thursday with a school-record performance, Rose picked up his sixth overall career All-American award and his third in the discus with another school record with a throw of 56.93m (186-09). His first throw of the day was 52.91m and then he improved to 56.00m on his second attempt. His third attempt was his record-breaker moving him into second place for good. Rose scored 16 points for the Ichabods this championship giving him a school-record 19 during the outdoor season passing Romain Henry who scored seven.
Dale picked up his third All-American award and his second outdoor honor in as many seasons finishing in a tie for seventh in the high jump. Dale cleared 2.03m (6-08.00) on his second attempt and then cleared 2.08m (6-09.75) on his second attempt before going out at 2.13m (6-11.75). Dale scored 1.5 points for the Ichabods.
Matthew Heckman finished in a tie for 11
th to earn second-team All-American honors going over the opening bar of 2.03m (6-08.00) before missing at 2.08m (6-09.75).
