TEMPE, Ariz. -- Washburn women's tennis ends the year with a No. 14 ranking in the final ITA Rankings of the season released on Wednesday afternoon. The Ichabods finished the 2023-24 season with a 20-6 record (6-2 MIAA), and advanced to the NCAA National Championships for a third straight season.  

On the individual side, Maja Jung finishes the season with a No. 7 singles ranking after staying inside the top-10 all season. The senior led Washburn with a 28-7 singles record while going 21-4 in duals, all at No. 1. She posted an 11-2 record against nationally ranked opponents.  

In doubles Maja Jung and Lara Schmid teamed up to finish the season ranked No. 6 in the nation. The senior duo stayed inside the top-10 of the rankings all season long after posting a 24-8 record together. They were 16-5 in duals all coming at No. 1 and were 7-2 against fellow ranked tandems.  

The ITA will officially announce the student-athletes who earned All-American honors at a later date.
