MARYVILLE, Mo,. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track team opened day one of the MIAA Outdoor Championship with the multi-competition. Day two will start on Saturday.
Naiuri Krein leads the heptathlon with a strong first day of action after placing fourth in the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.49, first in the high jump at 1.68m (5-06.00), first in the shot put at 12.07m (39-07.25) and second in the 200m (25.57). She had personal bests in the 100m hurdles and the high jump and her high jump mark was also an NCAA provisional mark. She tallied 3,241 points on the opening day leading Fort Hays State's Maggie Remsberg by 128 points and Central Missouri's Kayla Goodwin by 133 points.
In the decathlon,
Pau Borillo-Febrer is in seventh overall, 551 points behind day one leader Trey Miller from Central Missouri. Borillo-Febrer had his best finish of the day in the high jump after clearing 1.87m (6-01.50).
