Ichabod Soccer Hits Road For Contests Against Southwest Minnesota State and Wayne State

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time in the 2024 season with weekend contests against the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs and Wayne State College Wildcats. Washburn will face the Mustangs on Sep. 13 at 3 p.m in Marshall, Minn. and the Wildcats on Sep. 15 at 1 p.m. in Wayne, Neb. 
 

--- KICKOFF ---

  • Washburn Ichabod soccer hits the road for the first time in the 2024 campaign with a trip up north to face Southwest Minnesota State and Wayne State College.
  • Washburn will take on the Mustangs at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 13 in Marshall, Minn. and the Wildcats at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 15, in Wayne, Neb.

  • Washburn is 0-2-0 so far in the 2024 season.
  • The Ichabods went 21-4-1 in 2023, winning the MIAA regular season title and advancing to the NCAA National Championship Game.

  • The Ichabods now sit with a home record of 0-2 in home contests in 2024, still awaiting their first road and neutral contests.

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Beck is among 124 Division II shot-stoppers with 180 minutes played after the first weekend of action.
  • Sophomore midfielder Grace Peterson joins 43 other qualifying players with a shot accuracy percentage of 1.000. Peterson has taken four shots across the two games, all being on goal. She is the only qualified MIAA player to remain perfect.
  • Washburn is in a tie for 23rd as a team in corner kicks taken per game. The Ichabods have taken 14 corners in the first two games for an average seven per game.

  • Senior Cloe Quintana recorded her first collegiate goal in the contest against Maryville. Quintana has made 61 appearances in her career for the Ichabods, tallying 3,294 minutes played.
  • Senior Ana Muruzabal assisted on Quintana's goal against Maryville. Muruzabal tallied three assists last season to go along with eight goals.
  • Josie Boyle was the only outfield player to play all 180 minutes in the first two contests. Boyle ranked third on last year's squad with 1,849 minutes played across 21 contests.
  • Senior Khloe Schuckman leads Washburn with six shots taken across the two games. She is third among non-goalies with 157 minutes played this season.
  • Sophomore Hailey Beck made her first two starts in goal last week, recording a total of three saves in 180 minutes played.

Match #3 - Southwest Minnesota State University

  • The Mustangs are coached by Clay Glasgow in his third season.
