KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Yiibari Nwidadah was named the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for week 11 of the 2024-25 season this afternoon by the conference office. Nwidadah is the second Ichabod to receive the honor this season.  

Yiibari Nwidadah put up back-to-back 20-plus point scoring efforts in a pair of double-digit home victories for Washburn last week. The junior averaged 22.5 points per game on a league-best 70.8 percent shooting from the field (17-of-24) while grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game and making 1.5 blocks per game on the defensive end. Nwidadah, who currently leads the nation in field goal percentage, shot 10-of-14 from the floor for 23 points with 12 rebounds and two blocks in an 88-73 rivalry win over Emporia State last Wednesday. In the contest, she needed just the first two quarters to secure her fourth double-double of the season. Nwidadah then added 22 points and eight boards in the 77-66 win against Newman over the weekend. Washburn will be back in action next against Northwest Missouri State at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
