KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's basketball team remained on top of the NABC Top 25 Coaches Poll for the third consecutive week as the newest poll was released today. Washburn moved to 19-0 and 10-0 in the MIAA after a pair of road wins last week over Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western. The Ichabods are back at home for three of their final five regular season home games of the year hosting Fort Hays State on Thursday night in Lee Arena.
The top-ranking places the Ichabods in the top five for the ninth-straight week for the first time in program history and the Ichabods also remained in the top spot for the third-consecutive week for the first time in NCAA history. Washburn received 15 of the 16 first-place votes in this week's poll. The Ichabod record for the most wins to start the season is 19 coming in the 1992-93 season which they have tied this season. The Ichabods are one of two undefeated teams remaining in the NCAA Division II ranks joining No. 2 Daemen (14-0).
