NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team is ranked No. 11 in the first national poll of the season released today by the USTFCCCA. The ranking is the highest for the Ichabods since being ranked No. 14 in the 2020 preseason poll. Washburn finished the 2024 season ranked No. 21 in the nation.
The Ichabods will be in action this weekend at the Washburn Open Jan. 31-Feb. 1 inside the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
So far this season, the Ichabods have top 10 individual rankings in the 200m (
Ezekiel Seamster – No. 2), high jump (Matt Heckman – No. 9) and in the heptathlon (
Chaney Martin – No. 3). Additionally, the Ichabods have a total of eight in the top 15 of the rankings this season with
Tre Richardson and Seamster being ranked 11th in the 60m,
Jordan Dale ranked 12th in the high jump and the 4x400m relay team ranked 15th.
