KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn's Donald Kibet has been named the MIAA Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after his performance last week in Texas at the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop on Oct. 11.

Kibet led the Ichabods to a second-place team finish with his second-place individual finish at the DBU Old Glory Gallop on Saturday in Texas. Kibet was the second finisher in a time of 23:46.16, outrunning 403 other runners in the event.  His time was the second-fastest time in program history on an 8K course trailing only his time at the MIAA Championships in 2024.

Kibet and the Ichabods will return to action on Oct. 25 at the MIAA Championships in Pittsburg, Kan.
