Broadie and Limback tabbed as AVCA All-Americans

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washburn volleyball seniors Austin Broadie and Bella Limback were each named as AVCA All-Americans on Wednesday morning by the organization. Broadie earned first-team honors while Limback was an honorable mention.  

The Washburn volleyball program All-American tally is now up to 36 awards, all coming since 2002 under head coach Chris Herron. Broadie is the first Ichabod to land on the first team since Allison Maxwell in 2021. 

Austin Broadie earns her first All-American honor in her career after playing and starting in all 32 matches for the Ichabods this season. She led the team with 348 kills (3.25 per set) while hitting .302 on the year. She finished third on the team with 72 blocks while also adding 72 digs. The Burns, Kan. native had four matches with 15+ kills and hit .400 or better in eight outings. Broadie finished 5th in the MIAA in kills per set and points per set and 7th in hitting percentage. She was named the MIAA Player of the Year and was a first-team AVCA All-Region selection. 

Bella Limback also earns All-American honors for the first time in her four-year career. She started in all 32 matches while leading Ichabod qualified hitters with a .444 hitting percentage. She tallied 213 kills (2.03 per set) while also stacking a team-high 124 blocks (1.18 per set) on the year and adding 46 digs. The Waverly, Mo. native had four matches with double-digit kills and had 13 matches with at least five blocks. She finished the year 1st in the nation in hitting percentage and 28th in blocks per set. Limback was tabbed as an All-MIAA first team selection and earned AVCA All-Region honorable mention honors.  

Washburn finished the season with a final record of 27-5, advancing to the NCAA Central Region Semifinals.
