KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod basketball men's team remained in the NABC Top 5 coming in at No. 5 in the final poll before the NCAA postseason starts. Washburn is the No. 1 seed and will host the NCAA Central Region in Topeka starting Saturday. Washburn will face Harding at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at wusports.com.
Other teams in the top 25 who are in Topeka this weekend include: No. 17 MSU Moorhead. Winona State, Concordia St. Paul, Minot State, Harding and Southwest Minnesota State all received votes.
The winner of the Washburn/Harding contest will take on the advancing team from the Concordia St. Paul/Minot State game on Sunday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. The regional championship game is Tuesday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
The Ichabods (26-3, 17-2 MIAA) clinched their 11th MIAA regular season championship this season and have been in the top five of the national rankings for 15-straight weeks.
