KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- For the first time this season Washburn women's tennis receives the MIAA Athlete of the Week award as Renske Ubachs was named the winner by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. 

Renske Ubachs went a combined 4-0 on the week all coming at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles to help No. 5 Washburn to an undefeated week and extend its winning streak to seven matches. In the Ichaobds win over Cameron she and Daniela Tijaro defeated the No. 2 nationally ranked doubles pair Anastasia Uspenskaia and Jenna Goessel 6-4. The junior picked up two more ranked wins against Harding with her and Tijaro defeating No. 41 ranked Karli Roux and Alexia Zarate 7-6(4) at No. 1 doubles. In singles she defeated No. 14 ranked Zarate in two sets, 6-2, 6-3. 

The Ichabods are back in action beginning MIAA play next Thursday, March 27 hosting Newman at the Washburn Tennis Complex.
