KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod athletic department is ranked No. 2 in the latest update to the MIAA Commissioner's Cup standings presented by Impact Signs as announced today by the conference office.
The Ichabods are coming off an outstanding winter sports season topped by the Ichabod men's basketball team winning the conference championship. The Ichabods are now off to the Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind. where they will open the national quarterfinals with Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
The Ichabod track programs recorded their best finish at the MIAA Indoor Championships as both teams finished third overall and sent a combined school-record 14 student-athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships where they brought back nine All-Americans.
The Washburn women's basketball program finished fifth in the final MIAA standings reaching the MIAA Tournament semifinals falling to the eventual champion.
