TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team moves to No. 9 in the latest computerized ITA rankings released on Wednesday morning. Two doubles teams remain ranked along with one on the singles side.
Last time out the Ichabods won 5-2 over Emporia State at home, improving to 13-1 on the year and 4-0 inside the MIAA along with winning an 11th straight match. They move down two spots from a No. 7 ranking last week. Barry takes over the top spot in the rankings followed by Nova Southeastern and Midwestern State in the top-three. Around the MIAA, Nebraska Kearney is ranked No. 19 in the nation and Northwest Missouri State enters at No. 49.
In singles play, Renske Ubachs remains in the top-20 at No. 18 nationally. On the doubles side Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro are ranked No. 3 while Leo Floeth and Isabella Martensson remain slotted at No. 23.
Washburn is in action on the road this afternoon taking on Missouri Western State with first serve at 2 p.m.
