TEMPE, Ariz. -- Washburn women's tennis jumped back into the top-10 of the latest ITA computerized rankings Wednesday morning moving to No. 7.
After defeating No. 15 Nebraska Kearney 4-3 on the road the Ichabods are 12-1 on the year, 3-0 in the MIAA and on a ten match winning streak. Nova Southeastern remains No. 1 in the nation, followed by Barry and Midwestern State respectively. The lone other MIAA team ranked this week is the Lopers who move down to No. 16.
On the singles side of the rankings, Renske Ubachs moves up to a new season and career high ranking of No. 15 nationally. In doubles play Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro continue to rank No. 2 in the nation while Leo Floeth and Isabella Martensson are slotted at No. 23.
Washburn is back in action Thursday, facing Emporia State at the Washburn Tennis Complex beginning at 2 p.m.
