TOPEKA, Kan. -- The honors for Jett Buck continue to roll in as the Ichabod senior infielder was named an NCBWA Second Team All-American at shortstop on Wednesday afternoon by the organization. Buck becomes the seventh ever Washburn player to earn an All-American honor.  

Jett Buck joins Payton McHarg (2024), David Gauntt (2016) and John Calhoun (2012) as the only other NCBWA All-Americans in program history. He is the third to earn a second team nod.  

Central Region first team honors went to the Kansas City, Mo. Native after he delivered a 2025 season with a .365 batting average, 21 home runs and 68 RBI, all team-highs. He started in all 53 games this season finishing with a team-high 1.178 OPS along with 18 doubles and three stolen bases. His season ranked third on the program all-time charts for both home runs and RBI while ranking fifth in SLG% at .757 and in hits with 81.    

He ranked 3rd in the MIAA and 11th nationally in home runs, 2nd in the conference and 42nd in the nation in hits and 3rd among MIAA players and 29th nationally in RBI.   

With the selection it becomes the first time in Washburn program history that the Ichabods will be represented nationally with All-Americans in back-to-back seasons.
