MARSHALL, Minn. -- Jett Buck earns his second national honor in as many weeks as the Ichabod senior infielder was named a D2CCA Third Team All-American at shortstop on Wednesday morning by the organization.
The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007. This is the ninth year in which the program is solely sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
After earning a second team All-American award from NCBWA a week prior, Buck becomes the second Ichabod in program history to be named an All-American by multiple organizations joining John Calhoun in 2012 after he was named to three (Rawlings/ABCA, NCBWA and Daktronics), all as a third team member. He was named a D2CCA first team selection for the central region earlier in the month.
Buck started in all 53 games this season and leading the Ichabods with a .365 batting average, 21 home runs and 68 RBI. The Kansas City, Mo. native finished the season with a 1.178 OPS along with 18 doubles and three stolen bases. His season ranked third on the program all-time charts for both home runs and RBI while ranking fifth in SLG% at .757 and in hits with 81.
