KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn women's tennis had five student-athletes recognized by the MIAA for their academic success on Tuesday afternoon as they were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the conference.  

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. 

The Ichabods included to be recognized were: Peyton Koper (Nursing), Isabella Martensson (Communication), Issabella Pensavalle (Nursing), Maddie Shelley (Nursing) and Renske Ubachs (Kinesiology).  

Across the conference 50 total student-athletes were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Fourteen earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete honors and four were Academic Excellence award recipients.  

All freshmen and transfer student athlete award winners will be announced in a separate release later in the month.
