Both Ichabod tennis squads earn ITA Academic Team honors

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its academic awards for Division II on Tuesday morning as the Washburn men's and women's tennis programs each earned ITA All-Academic team honors. There were 13 total Ichabod student-athletes recognized between the two teams.  

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, the student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 in the 2024-25 academic year. Those earning the honor on the men's side were: Tim Hammes, Marco Romano, Matthew Earle, Ivan Ivanov, Graham Faris and Mason Fair. On the women's side Leo Floeth, Isabella Martensson, Maddie Shelley, Daphney Koutsofta, Issabella Pensavalle, Daniela Tijaro and Saajida Razick qualified.  

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above for the year. The women's team had a 3.54 GPA in 2024-25 while the men's team had a 3.28.  

Both the men's and women's teams finished the season ranked in the top-25 of the final ITA poll with the women finishing 17-4 and the men 23-4 while reaching the ITA National Championship match.
