MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Washburn was held in check at the plate on Monday afternoon falling 6-0 to Barry on Monday afternoon. The Ichabods return to action next on at home for the Steve Anson Classic beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 against Sioux Falls.

After a scoreless first inning for both teams the Bucs (7-1) did most of their damage in the game in the second. Barry loaded the bases with one out and went on to score five runs in the inning on a single and a pair of doubles.

The next inning the Bucs led off with a pair of doubles to plate another run and go up 6-0. Washburn (1-3) was kept quiet at the plate, managing two hits between the fourth and seventh innings. In the fifth the bases were loaded on a hit batter and a pair of walks but the scoring barrier was unable to be breached.

On the mound Fidel Hatch took over in the fourth inning out of the bullpen and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings with a strikeout. Brian Wamsher took over next, throwing 1.1 innings with three strikeouts as he faced the minimum.

The Washburn offense was held without a hit in the final two innings as the deficit remained the same with the Bucs winning 6-0.

The Ichabods were out-hit 12-4 in the game and left 10 batters on base while Barry had nine left on. Neither team had an error in the contest. Washburn had a 4-2 advantage in walks.

Six pitchers took the mound for the Ichabods, combining for seven strikeouts across the 8.0 innings. Griffin Huiatt took the loss in the decision.

At the plate Jarrett Herrmann and Chase Littrell were the only players for Washburn to reach base twice, each on one hit and a walk.
