VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track open day one of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships earning a second-team all-Amiercan honors while sending another into tomorrow's finals.
Lexie Fontaine finished second in her 800m preliminary heat and qualified fifth for the Saturday finals with a time of 2:09.17. Saturday's final will be held at 4:35 p.m.
Alex Hart earned second-team All-America honors, finishing ninth in the high jump clearing 1.68m (5-06). Overall it is her third All-America award at Washburn.
In the pole vault,
Adam Wooldridge did not clear a height after passing the first bar at 4.86m (15-11.25).
Ichabods
Justin Forde (triple jump),
Jordan Dale and
Slade Smith (high jump) and
Naiuri Krein (pentathlon) and Fontaine in the 800m finals will all be in action on Saturday.
