VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Washburn Ichabod track and field teams wrapped up the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships as the Ichabod men finished 16th recording their first NCAA individual champion, while the women's team finished 36th with two All-Americans.
Justin Forde became the Ichabods' first NCAA-era national champion with a school-record mark of 16.29m (53-05.50), almost 18 inches ahead of the runner-up. Forde's final mark came on his final attempt of the day moving him to the top of the podium.
Naiuri Krein picked up her fifth All-America Award as an Ichabod with her eighth-place finish at the NCAA National Indoor Championships in the pentathlon with a total score of 3,864 points.
Lexie Fontaine earns her first All-American award with a school-record time of 2:08.45, finishing fifth-place overall in the 800m.
The Ichabods had three others competing in Virginia as well. Slade Smith finished 15th in the triple jump clearing 2.06m (6-09.00). Jordan Dale did not clear a bar in the high jump and neither did Adam Wooldridge in the pole vault.
