EDMOND, Okla. – Washburn sophomore outfielder
Makenzie Sais has added another all-region award to her shelf as she garnered All-Central Region recognition from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Monday announced Monday as voted on by the region's athletic communication specialists. Last week, she was named first-team all-Central Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association after her record-breaking season for the Ichabods.
Sais currently leads all three levels of NCAA softball in stolen bases with an MIAA and school record 69 this season en route to first-team all-MIAA honors. Sais led the Ichabods with a .421 batting average with 75 hits and 48 runs scored and a .507 on base percentage. She was also selected as a MIAA Gold Glove pick by the league coaches.
