FRISCO, Texas – For the first time in its short two-year history, the Washburn Ichabod women's golf team will be represented on the Women's Golf Coaches Association Central All-Region team that was announced today by the coaching organization as junior Susana Granados Carrion and senior Angelina Borg-Malec were both listed on the 12-woman squad.

"Great honors to receive for both Angelina and Susana," head golf coach Ronnie McHenry said. "They both had great years and helped us get this new program to the level we wanted quickly. I know Angie wanted to finish her senior year on a good note and she did that and will always remember this year. It will give Suzy even more confidence heading into her senior year knowing she is one of the best players in the country and needs to strive to win some of these tournaments. Again I am thrilled for those two individuals but also for my team and program to see our hard work be rewarded."

This past season, Carrion season led the Ichabods with 75.00 stroke average recording six top-five finishes and a win percentage of 86 percent. She finished in a tie for third at the MIAA Championships and was also a first-team all-MIAA selection.

Borg-Malec recorded a scoring average of 75.53 over 30 rounds shooting a Washburn career-low of 70 twice this season - first at the Midwest Classic, and then again at the Spring Region Preview. She had a career-best finish at the Women's Firekeeper Open where she tied for third. She was a third-team all-MIAA selection finishing sixth at the MIAA Championships and in a tie for 15^th at the NCAA Central Regional.
