Chris Herron became Washburn's all-time winningest coach as the Lady Blues swept Panhandle State, 30-10, 30-11, 30-23. The Lady Blues won for the 17th straight time and improved to 22-1.
The Lady Blues hit .739 in the first game without committing an error and then hit .690 with one error in the second game.
Joanna Alfers led the Lady Blues with eight kills while
Tessa Jones,
Anna Simpson-Mills and
Kelci Wigger each had seven. Wigger led the attack with a .600 percentage and Simpson-Mills hit .429.
Molly Smith and
Erica Cowhick each had nine digs and Wigger led with five blocks.
Herron reached 168 wins, passing Linda Moley, Washburn's coach from 1982-86. He is already WU's career winning percentage leader.
Washburn's .500 team attack percent topped the .452 mark set in 2004, the previous rally scoring record.
