WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Ichabods scored just four times as they were swept in a doubleheader at 20th-ranked Central Missouri Friday. Washburn (5-9, 3-5 MIAA) dropped to opener 9-1 and then lost the final game of the series 10-3.
The Ichabods will play their next game at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rockhurst before returning home to host Missouri Southern in a four-game series starting next Friday.
Game 1

The 20th-ranked Mules scored multiple runs in four straight innings on the way to a 9-1 win over the Ichabods in the first game of a doubleheader. The two teams will complete the twin bill and four-game MIAA series with another game Friday evening.
Camer Kasel was 2 for 3 in the game and drove in the only Washburn run as his two-out single in the sixth inning drove in Dan Egan. Just three other Ichabods connected on singles as Washburn was held to five hits.
Bryan Stroth started for Washburn and allowed the first six runs off eight hits through 3 2/3 innings. Mark Carey started for UCM and struck out seven through six innings, allowing the one run on five hits.

The Ichabods hit three home runs, but they were all solo shots and didn't add up to enough as they lost 10-3 in the final game.
Wes Joy led off the first and sixth innings with homers and then Calvin Iversen got one in the eighth inning. In between Joy's two blasts the Mules scored eight times off starter Brett Sorensen. He earned his first loss of the year and fell to 2-1 as he allowed the eight runs off 11 hits with four strikeouts.
Joy was 3 for 4 in the game as he also had a double.
Danny Potje started for UCM and had 10 strikeouts through six innings of three-hit baseball.
