OMAHA, Neb. -- The Washburn Lady Blues improved to 21-17 after splitting their final two games at the UNO Classic after topping Augustana 11-1 in six innings and dropping a 1-0 decision to South Dakota. For the weekend, Washburn finished the classic 4-1. Washburn has won 16 of their last 18 games.

Kelly Swygert improved to 13-6 scattering four hits allowing the one earned run.
Game 2 - South Dakota 1, Washburn 0 - Box Score
The Lady Blues dropped the final game of the UNO Classic 1-0 to South Dakota as the Coyotes scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Lady Blues stranded nine base runners in the game as they picked up only four hits with Madill recording two of them.
Megan Kimerer struck out six batters in the losses allowing the one run.
Notes: Brooke DeVader led the Lady Blues with a .563 batting average going 9 for 16 with four doubles and seven runs scored ... the next home run DeVader hits will set a new school record - she has 32 for her career at Washburn ...
Dani White drove in 10 runs in the five games with six hits, one double and the only home run for the weekend for the Lady Blues ...
