Washburn was held to just one run as Pittsburg State swept an MIAA doubleheader Saturday at Falley Field, 7-0 and 7-1. The two teams will finish the four-game series Sunday at noon.
The Ichabods fell to 9-15 and 6-11 in the MIAA while PSU went to 13-16 and 8-9.
Game 1

The Ichabods mustered just five hits as they were shut out 7-0 in the opener.
Five different WU players got singles off PSU starter Tim Brown as he went the distance and struck out two with no walks. He faced just three batters over the minimum and threw 69 pitches in the seven inning game.
Washburn starter
Curtis Hamilton gave up five runs, three earned, off seven hits with three walks.
Drue Henton pitched the final three innings and allowed two runs off five hits.
Wes Joy led off the first inning with a single, stole second and then advanced to third on a ground out. He was stranded there and ended up being the only runner to make it past second base.

The Ichabods fell behind 2-0 in the first inning and answered with just one run the whole game as they lost 7-1 in the nightcap.
Mark Stoltz was 2 for 2 and
Brian Gorges was 1 for 3 with the only run scored. He led off the fourth with a single, later stole third base and then scored on an RBI groundout by
Cameron Kasel.
The Gorillas scored in the final four innings and tagged Washburn started
Brett Sorensen for six runs off eight hits. He struck out three and walked two.
Kalan Norton pitched the seventh for WU and allowed a run and a hit.
