WACO, Texas -- The Washburn Ichabod football team was ranked No. 25 in the final AFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll which was announced today. The Ichabods were the only MIAA school other than Northwest Missouri to be ranked in the final poll.
Washburn finished the 2009 season 8-3. The ranking was the third time in the program's history the Ichabods were ranked in the final AFCA poll as the 2005 team was ranked No. 13 and the 2007 squad was tabbed No. 24 in the final poll.
