THACKERVILLE, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabod golf team placed sixth at the Red River Intercollegiate Championships at the WinStar Golf Club. The Ichabods will be back in action March 22-23 at the 59th annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships in Mission Viejo.

Abilene Christan won the team title with a team score of 17-over 593, 11 shots better than host school Cameron who finished with a team score of 604. Many of the teams played more than 18 holes on the second day having to wait until Tuesday to finish up their first rounds as thunderstorms halted and delayed play.

The Ichabods were led by Brian Walker who finished in a tie for 14th with rounds of 74 and 80 for a total of 154. Dustin Yeager finished in a tie for 30th with a 14-over 158 with scores of 80 and 78. Nathan Hoefflin, Riley Piles and Nate Sargent all tied for 39th place with a two-day total of 160. Hoefflin carded rounds of 82 and 78 while Piles had rounds of 81 and 79 and Sargent signed off on rounds of 79 and 81. Miles Christensen had a pair of 82's for a 20-over 164 placing him in 59th place.
