NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of America(GCAA) announced Tuesday afternoon that Washburn's
Jacob Fratzel &
Myles Tarvin were selected to the PING All-Region Central Team.
"We're really proud of Jacob and Myles for earning All-Region honors," said Washburn Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. "Both guys have been incredibly consistent for us all season and have stepped up in big moments throughout the year. Jacob came in as a freshman and immediately made an impact, which says a lot about his maturity and competitiveness. Myles has been a steady leader for us from day one and has put together a tremendous season. These honors are a reflection of the work they've put in and the standard this group has continued to raise all year."
Jacob Fratzel adds another honor to his list of awards in his Freshman season, as he was named MIAA Freshman of the Year and All-MIAA team. Fratzel, a Shawnee, Kan., native, leads the Ichabods in most top-10 finishes with six; he also has a low round of the year of a 66 at the NSU Men's Classic.
Myles Tarvin was also named to the All-Region team. Tarvin is in his first season as an Ichabod. He leads Washburn with the most top-5 finishes on the season, with the best finish being 2nd place at the Men's Firekeeper Open, and also leads all Ichabods with 14 rounds either even par or lower.
