DURANT, Okla. -- The Lady Blues softball team wrapped up the three-day South Central Shootout hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma with an eight-inning loss to the host school 2-1 before topping Northeastern State 11-0 in five innings behind Washburn's second no-hitter in as many days by
Danielle Fox following
Kelsie Novotny's no-no yesterday. Washburn will be back in action March 4-5 in at the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs Invitational.

Southeastern Oklahoma scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second before the Lady Blues (3-7) tied the score in th etop of the sixth when
Katie Schroeder scored on an error by SOSU. Neither team scored in the seventh inning before the teams went to the international tie-breaker rule in the eighth inning scoring the game-winning run. Novotny started the game allowing eight hits with three strikeouts before passing the ball to Fox, who pitched 2 and 1/3 innings before yielding the unearned run.
Kacy Covert had two hits for the Lady Blues who finished with four in the game stranding seven overall.

Danille Fox tossed Washburn's second no-htter in as many days following Novotny's no-no against Newman from the day before for her first collegiate victory. Fox struck out seven in the win. Washburn pounded out a season-high 15 hits with 11 runs highlighted by
Jacque Horejsi's second inning grand slam sending the Lady Blues to a six-run third inning. Covert, Schroeder,
Shelby Erickson,
Alex Zordel, Horejsi and
Lauren Himpel each had two hits in the game and Schroeder had two RBI.
Lauren Himpel also swiped two bases as well.
