NORMAN, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods trailed by nine at the break and cut the lead to six early in the second half but the Oklahoma Sooner pulled away in a 73-48 win over the Ichabod men's basketball team. Washburn will play its third and final Big 12 exhibition game at Kansas State on Sunday.

Washburn scored the first points of the game on a 3-pointer by Alex North before the Sooners would go on a 15-2 run pushing out to a 15-5 lead. Washburn trimmed the Sooners lead back to five at 15-10 after a pair of free throws by Stephon Drane. Again the Sooners stretched their lead at to 12 at 27-15 with 6:11 to play in the first half a 3-pointer from Christian Ulsaker cut the lead back to nine at 33-24 going into the break.

In the second half, buckets by North and Drane and a 3-point play by Algie Key cut the Sooner advantage to six at 37-31 with 17:32 to play in the game. The Sooners then ripped off a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to put the game out of reach as Oklahoma built a lead to as many as 30 before a jumper by Colton Anderson and a traditional 3-point play by David Salach cut the lead to 25 with under a minute to play.

Washburn was led by North's 10 points and Key had seven points and five rebounds. Kevin House scored eight points and Prince Samuels scored six points.

Buddy Hield led the Sooners with 24 points and Isaiah Cousins had 14.

The Ichabods were outrebounded 48 to 38 in the game shooting 16 of 52 from the field. The Sooners shot 40 percent connecting on 25 of 63 shots. The Sooners were 17 of 25 from the free throw line and the Ichabods finished 13 of 24. Washburn committed 19 turnovers in the game recording eight assists.
