This will be the latest Washburn has played a home opener in recent history after the first seven home games were moved or postponed.

The FHSU series begins Friday with a 4 p.m. game and then the two will play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. They'll wrap up the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
Washburn took three of four last weekend at Missouri Western and then lost a non-conference game 9-7 Tuesday at Emporia State. The Ichabods are 7-6 overall and tied for fifth in the MIAA at 7-5.

Fort Hays State is 3-12 overall and 14th in the MIAA at 2-10 while the Jets are 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the Heartland Conference. They have wins over MIAA teams Nebraska-Kearney, Emporia State and Pittsburg State.

Carnahan and Jackson enter weekend on hot streaks
Kyle Carnahan has reached base safely in all 13 games for Washburn this year and he and Matt Jackson enter the weekend on hitting streaks. Jackson has a season-high six-game hitting streak and Carnahan has a five-game hitting streak.

Carnahan is 8 for 15 (.533) in the last five games with seven RBI and four runs scored.

Keeping up with the changes
Washburn has had every game moved from its original schedule and the first three mid-week non-conference games have been postponed. No makeup dates have been scheduled. With cold weather and a snow-packed field, the Ichabods have missed their first seven scheduled home games.

If the Ichabods play Friday at 4 p.m. at Falley Field it will be their first game this year played as orginally scheduled.

Up Next
Washburn will finish a six-game road trip with a four-game series at Pittsburg State March 21-23 and then play at Rockhurst on March 25.
