The Ichabods will finish a six-game road trip with four MIAA games this weekend at Pittsburg State and a non-conference game Tuesday at Rockhurst.
Washburn is 9-9 overall and 9-7 in the MIAA in a three-way tie for fifth. PSU is 9-12 and 10th in the MIAA at 7-9.
The Gorillas have won four of their last five after losing five straight.
WU leads the all-time series 49-47 but has lost three straight season series against PSU. This is the 3rd straight year the series was played in Pittsburg.
Rockhurst is 4-9 and will play 6 games before hosting Washburn. The Hawks host Ill.-Springfield for four and Bemidji State for two on Monday.
They will have played seven games in four days, all at home, after the Washburn game and then they follow that with a game at NWMSU the next day.
Rockhurst leads the series vs Washburn 34-31 and they have met at least once every year since 1999.
Kyle Carnahan has reached base safely in all 18 games this year. He has at least one hit in 13 games and was walked or hit by a pitch in the other five.

Wes Jones is leading Washburn with a .392 batting average. He's hit safely in all but four games this year.
Taylor Gentry has a 1.96 ERA through his first four starts. He's struck out 23 and walked eight in 23 innings and is 2-0. Washburn has won all four of his starts.

MIAA season will reach halfway point as Ichabods play four-game series at Pittsburg State
The Ichabods will play their fifth of 10 MIAA series when they travel to Pittsburg State for four games this weekend. Washburn will then wrap up a six-game road swing with a game Tuesday at Rockhurst at 5 p.m.
Washburn and the Gorillas will start their series Friday at 5 p.m. and then play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. The series will wrap up Sunday with a 1 p.m game.

Carnahan has reached safely in every game this year
Kyle Carnahan has had a turn on the base paths at least once in each of Washburn's 18 games this year. He's batting .333 an has a .463 on-base percentage. He's hit safely in 13 of the games and was walked of hit by a pitch in the other five.
He's on a four-game hitting streak and he has raised his batting average nearly 50 points in the last seven games.
About Pittsburg State
The Tigers beat Drury Wednesday in a non-conference home game after taking three of four against Northeastern State last weekend. The Gorillas are in the middle of a 10-game home stand. Cody Ball is third in the MIAA batting .426 and he leads the team with 19 RBI and four home runs. Nathan Arnold leads the team with a 3-1 record and has a 5.79 ERA.
About Rockhurst
The Hawks will end a seven-game home stand with their game Tuesday against Washburn. They'll host Illinois-Springfield over the weekend and then host Bemidji State in a doubleheader Monday. Josh Dennett entered the weekend batting .409 and Josh Tols had a 2.65 ERA through three starts with a 2-1 record.
Keeping up with the changes
The Ichabods finally played their first home game last weekend against Fort Hays State. The March 14 date was the latest in recorded history that Washburn has hosted a home opener. It was also the first game this year that was played at its originally scheduled date, time and location. The rest of the series was moved around due to expected cold and wet weather on Sunday.
Washburn has two non-conference games that were postponed and no makeup date has been set. A postponed home game from February against Newman has been moved to April 21.

Washburn will return home to host Northwest Missouri State March 28-30 in a four-game MIAA weekend series. The Ichabods will then be off the following midweek.
