Opening Notes• The Ichabods return home on Wednesday, Sept. 16 to open a three-game homestand starting with Newman as Washburn wraps up non-conference play with the Jets starting at 6 p.m.
• Washburn will then open MIAA play hosting Emporia State on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. before facing Nebraska-Kearney at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20 in Topeka.
• Overall seven of the next nine matches for the Ichabods will be played in Yager Stadium.
'Bod's and Ends• For the first time in school history the Ichabods recorded back-to-back double overtime shutouts in a pair of ties with Southwest Minnesota State (Sept. 6) and with Rockhurst (Sept. 9).
• Overall the Ichabods have not allowed a goal in 244 minutes with Washburn sophomore Katilin Minnich in net.
• The Ichabods are in the middle of a 236:19 second scoreless streak. Washburn's lone goal of the season was by
Cadence Bourne in the opening match of the season against Minot State.
• The last time the Ichabods recorded three consecutive shutouts were in matches during the 2011 season. On Oct. 6 on Nebraska-Kearney in a 0-0 two overtime tie followed by a 3-0 win over Oct. 13 against Northwest Missouri and wrapped up with a 2-0 win over Missouri Western on Oct. 16.
• The Ichabods are being outshot 47-21 this season and 7-2 in overtime.

Kaitlin Minnich has recorded 23 saves and a .920 save percentage in her first three collegiate starts playing all 310 minutes this season in net for the Ichabods.

Noting Newman• The Jets are 1-2-1 this season with a win over East Central on Sept. 9. The Jets have losses to Missouri Southern in their last match and to Oklahoma Baptist while tying Oklahoma Christian in their opener.
• Morgan Foster leads the team with six points scoring three goals while Kelsi Langley has played 351 minutes in goal allowing three scores recording 23 saves for a 0.77 goal against average.
Series history with Newman• The Ichabods lead the all-time series 2-1-0.
• Washburn is 1-0 against the Jets in Topeka winning 4-0 on Sept. 22, 2013.
• Washburn won the first meeting on Sept. 6, 2009 in a 2-1 double overtime win in Wichita and lost to the Jets on Sept. 17, 2014 last season 2-1.

Last meeting with Newman(Sept. 17, 2014) WICHITA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team was tied at the break with Newman but a second half goal by the Jets was too much to overcome in a 2-1. Washburn will open MIAA play on Friday at Emporia State.
The Ichabods (0-4) fell behind the Jets (3-1-1) when Mei-Mei Senthavy scored her second goal of the season in the 10th minute staking the home team to a 1-0 lead.
Emily Stauffer knotted the score at 1-1 in the 19th minute when she recorded her first collegiate goal off an assist from
Sara Specht.
The score remained tied until the 54th minute when Maricela Ruvalcaba notched her fourth goal of the season for what turned out to be the match-winner as the Jets picked up the 2-1 win.
The Ichabods were outshot 8 to 4 in the match.
Tori Fuglister had three saves in the match facing eight shots.
Audra Keehn,
Presley Wiggins, Specht and Stauffer had shots while both Stauffer and Wiggins had shots on goal.
Noting Emporia State• The Hornets are 3-1 this season after falling last time out on Sept. 13 against Texas A&M-Commerce.
• ESU opened the season with three wins over Harding, East Central an Wayland Baptist.
• Amelie Heun leads the team with four goals and Grace Linton has three.
• Yadira Rivera has 16 saves in net and a 0.75 goal against average with two shutouts.
Series history with Emporia State• The Ichabods lead the all-time series 13-7-3 over the Hornets and have outscored ESU 40-30 in 23 matches.
• The Ichabods are 7-2-2 in matches against the Hornets in Topeka.
• Washburn's last win in the series was on Sept. 14, 2012 in a 1-0 win in Topeka.
Last meeting with Emporia State(Oct. 31, 2014) TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team lost its home finale of the 2014 season 4-1 to Emporia State.
The Hornets took a 2-0 lead into the break after scoring two goals over a 3:03 stretch of the opening half on goals by Grace Linton and Mallory Walden as each team attempted five shots in the frame. The Hornets (6-6-5, 3-5-5 MIAA) pushed the lead to 3-0 after a goal in the 54th minute by Amelie Heun off an assist from Kelsey Wakefield.
The Ichabods (0-16-1, 0-12-1) scored off a header by
Cadence Bourne off a corner kick assist from
Michelle Keleher in the 65th minute, Washburn would get no closer as the Hornets added another goal with under 10 minutes to play on a goal by Wakefield off an assist from Elizabeth High.
Washburn outshot the Hornets 12 to 9 in the match.
Tori Fuglister had three saves in net for the Ichabods. Bourne led the team with three shots and two shots on goal while Jenna Cunninghman had two shots in the match. There were 24 combined fouls in the match with ESU collecting 13 overall.
Noting Nebraska-Kearney• The Lopers are 1-1-2 entering a Sept. 18 date with Fort Hays State to open MIAA play.
• UNK's win came in a 4-1 victory over Wayne State on Sept. 10. The Lopers tied Rockhurst 1-1 on Sept. 6 in Kansas City in double overtime.
• Evie Sintek has two goals to lead the team and Ali Hirschman has a 0.81 goal against average with 17 saves allowing three goals this season.
Series history with Nebraska-Kearney• The Ichabods trail the all-time series 1-2-2 with the Lopers and have lost the last two matches in a row.
• The Ichabods won the first meeting in the series 7-1 on Sept. 30, 2012. The Ichabods defeated the Lopers 4-2 in penalty kicks in a 1-1 double overtime tie on Nov. 5, 2013 in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals.
Last meeting with Nebraska-Kearney(Oct. 26, 2014) TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team outshot its opponents from Nebraska-Kearney but two early Loper goals were too much to overcome in a 3-1 loss on Sunday afternoon at Yager Stadium.
The Lopers jumped on the board first in the seventh minute when Montanna Hosterman scored her fourth goal of the season from 30 yards out on an assist from Meaghan Pasbrig. The Lopers added another goal in the 14th minute as Carly Brown scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Delanie Phillips as UNK took a 2-0 lead into the break.
UNK stretched its least to 3-0 in the 50th minute when Hosterman scored unassisted off a free kick 40 yards away. Neither team would score until the 75th minute when Washburn's
Bailey Wobig scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Morgan El-Attrache on a breakaway goal cutting the Loper lead to 3-1, but Washburn (0-15-1, 0-11-1 MIAA) would get no closer.
Washburn outshot the Lopers (4-10-2, 4-7-1 MIAA) 13 to 11 in the match, but the Lopers attempted eight shots on goal compared to seven for the Ichabods.
Tori Fuglister recorded five saves in net for Washburn. With her five saves Fuglister became Washburn's all-time saves leader with 323 passing Jenna Hatlestad who recorded 319 in her career.

Chris Jones is 0-1-2 in his first season at Washburn and is only the second coach in the program's history since 2003.
• Jones spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State where the Tigers went 20-13-5 coaching 11 all-MIAA picks.
• Prior to joining the Tigers, he was president and coach of the University of Oklahoma's men's club team.
