Box Score 2 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Washburn Ichabod softball team fell in its first two games of the season dropping a 4-0 decision to Barry before a late rally by No. 19 Florida Tech spoiled the second game in a 5-2 loss. Washburn will face host school Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday.

Erin Keeney led the Ichabods with two hits while
Marina Quimby and
Ashley Ruder each added singles.Â
Ashley Wills (0-1) making her Ichabod debut struck out four scattering five hits in six innings of work.Â
Washburn outhit Barry 5 to 4, but left eight runners on compared to seven for Barry. Washburn was 0-15 with runners on base in the game compared to 4 of 16 for the Buccaneers.Â

Marina Quimby led off the frame with a double and was scored on a sac fly by
Cassidy Merriman staking the Ichabods (0-2) to an early lead. After Florida Tech (8-2) tied the game in the top of the fourth, Washburn came back with a run in the bottom of the frame when
Lacie Myers scored taking advantage of a fielding error by the Panthers putting Washburn up 2-1. In the top of the seventh, the Panthers scored four times to rally for the 5-2 win over Washburn sending eight batters to the plate.
Washburn outhit the Panthers 9 to 7 as
Ashley Ruder led the Ichabods with three hits and Erink keeney recorded two. Quimby,
Megan Stegman,
Haylee Marsteller and
Lacie Myers each had one hit. Quimby and Keeney's hits were doubles.
Samantha Carson (0-1) recorded six strikeouts while walking only one giving up seven hits and five earned runs.
