- Washburn soccer enters the final weekend with a record of 7-7-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the MIAA.
- The seven Ichabod seniors will be recognized before the rivalry match against Emporia State (11-4-1) on Friday, Oct. 26. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start time.
- The Ichabods will then take to the road for the regular season finale in Hays, Kan., on Sunday, Oct. 28. Washburn takes on the Fort Hays Tigers (8-6-2) at 1 p.m.

- The Ichabods went 1-1 last week at home.
- The Central Missouri Jennies came to Topeka on Friday and became just the second team to shutout the Ichabods this season as they won 4-0.
- UCM led the match with 17 shots, with nine on goal while WU finished with 11 shots and all three of their SOG were in the second half.
- The Ichabods reversed roles on Sunday against Lindenwood and became the ones to hold their opponents scoreless in the 1-0 home victory.
- In the 43rd minute, the Lions had three quick opportunities to score in a row, but Washburn keeper, Bailee Russell, was able to swat away each attempt to keep them from scoring.
- Both teams went into the half with a no score tie.Â
- A few minutes into the second period, both Josie Rimmer and Tera Lynch took a shot on goal. The Lions' keeper, however, held on for the saves.
- The Ichabod duo would work together to score the match-winning goal a few minutes later.
- Lynch passed the ball up to Rimmer who beat the keeper and scored from five yards out.
- The Lions' offense was held to just two shot attempts in the second half, neither of which were on target.
- Washburn outshot the visitors 16-6. WU also led in SOG, 8-4.Â

- Her seven assists surpass the all-time total for a sophomore in a single season.
- Rimmer's three assists puts her in a tie for the second-most assists on the team.
- Right next to her is Mackenzie Heiman with three assists as well.
- Heiman also has four goals on the year.

- Fort Hays and Emporia State are two of the five teams who have already clinched a place in the MIAA Tournament. The top-eight teams will play in the conference tournament.Â

Scouting the Opponents
Emporia State
Series history: The Ichabods hold a tight 14-12-4 series advantage as well as a 7-6-2 record when facing the Hornets at home. Washburn is looking to snap a four match losing streak to Emporia State.
Scouting report: The Hornets improved their record to 11-4-1 on the season after sweeping the weekend with victories against Lindenwood (W, 1-0) and Central Missouri (W, 3-1). Emporia State is heading into the regular season finale this weekend with its ticket already punched to the MIAA Tournament next week.
Emporia boasts an offense that has outscored its opponents 31-17 and has eight players who have scored two or more goals. Rachel Marshall is the team's top-scorer with six goals and Maria Walden is close behind with four. Ashlyn Lakin and Jacki Martinek have both contributed four assists.
Jillian Patton has held down a majority of the goalkeeping duties this season for the Hornets. She has started 14 of 15 matches and completed five shutouts. She's also pulled down 56 saves and allowed 16 goals.
Fort Hays
Series history: Washburn trails Fort Hays 5-7-1 in the all-time series record since 2011. The Ichabods defeated the Tigers 3-1 at home earlier this season.
Scouting report: Fort Hays clinched a place in the MIAA Tournament after a winning weekend over Missouri Southern (W, 2-0) and Southwest Baptist (W, 2-1). The Tigers are now 8-6-2 on the season and 6-3 in the MIAA.
Cailey Perkins leads the team in both goals and assists, with six in each category. Darby Hirsch and Vianei Sanchez have both netted four goals apiece.
In net, Megan Kneefel has started 14 of 16 matches. She has a 7-5-2 record and turned in four shutout victories. She has faced 173 shots, making 64 saves and allowing 17 goals.Â
