TOPEKA, Kan. --- No. 21 Washburn volleyball look to extend its streak as it takes on the challenge of playing away from the friendly confines of Lee Arena this weekend as it begins a six-match road swing. The Ichabods open the tour with a pair of dates in the Show Me State where they will face Lindenwood on Friday and No. 13 Central Missouri on Saturday. Friday's match with the Lions is slated for 6 pm, while Saturday's match has been changed to 2 pm. THEY GOT HISTORY
• Friday's match will the ninth all-time meeting between with the Lions ... Washburn leads the series 6-2 but were swept in the season series last year.
• Saturday's match will be the 69th meeting with the Jennies ... WU trails the all-time series 16-52 ... since 2009, WU is 2-8 in its last 10 trips to Warrensburg.
STREAKING STARTS
Washburn's 15-0 run to open the 2018 campaign ties 2009 mark for the best start in program-history ... the Ichabods last consecutive win to open a season was in 2015 when the team began with 13-straight wins.Â

During its win streak, 11 of 15 Washburn's victories have been decided in 3-0 fashion ... entering the 2018 campaign, WU has won 308 matches in straight sets ... the program-record for most three-set victories in a season is 24, recorded in 2008.Â

II ... in both categories on the conference level, the Ichabods are second behind Pittsburg State (2.04, 110) ... WU's 2018 season-high for most aces in a match is 10, which it set in the season opener vs. DBU (8/24) and a day later against UCCS ... the program record for most aces in a match is 19, set on Aug. 31, 2002 at Lee Arena in a four-set match versus Anderson (S.C.) ... Faith Rottinghaus' team-best 19 aces is 74th in Division II, while her 0.41 aces per set is 125th ... Carol Williams' 98 aces in 1975 is the most in a single-season, while Lindsey Kersting and Abby Wittman share the mark for most aces in a single-match with seven ... Kersting set her record on Oct. 20, 2001 before Wittman matched the mark on Sept. 24, 2013.Â
TOUGH DEFENSE
The Washburn defense is among the top 50 on the NCAA Division II team leaderboard in several categories including opponent hitting percent (16th/0.106), digs per set (19th/18.70) and team digs (26th/729) while its blocks (97.5) and blocks per set (2.12) are 43rd and 40th, respectively.
ALL OUT ATTACK
In addition to its standings in aces and aces per set, the Washburn offense is among the nation's top 25 in several other categories such as kills per set (7th/14.48), assists per set (5th/13.72), hitting percentage (16th/0.259) and team assists (25th/631, its total team kills (565) is just out at 28th-overall.
THE LEADERBOARD
Washburn is among the top three of the MIAA team leaderboard with the exception to team digs (5th/920) and attack attempts (5th/1,899) ... the Ichabods top the MIAA in per set assists, digs, kills and win percentage while being listed second in aces, aces per set, blocks per set and opponent hitting percentage.

• Makayla Maxwell's 563 kills is 112 kills shy of 30th on the all-time kills list ... she posted a career-best 272 kills in 2017 and has averaged roughly 157 kills in her last three seasons.
• Maxwell's 317 career blocks is 17th-best on the Washburn record book ... she now trails legends Mollie Lacy (15th, 336) and Marissa Cox (16th, 327) ... Maxwell is averaging 123 blocks in her last two seasons and if she continues the trend, would put herself among program's the top 10 all-time.
• Maxwell's .412 hitting percentage tops MIAA leaderboard and places 15th nationally.
COUNT ON THE HAUS
• Faith Rottinghaus began the year ranked 44th with 579 career digs ... she has since added to her total and is now 31st all-time with 803 digs.
• Rottinghaus is ranked among the top 80 in Division II in digs (65th/224) and digs per set (79th/4.87).
• Rottinghaus has a team-best 19 aces this season ... her six aces against DBU on Aug. 24 was tied for third-best in a single-match.
COURTSIDE ASSISTANCE
• Shayla Conner continues to the climb the charts, now sitting at 16th on the career assist rankings with 1,121.
• Conner pushed her season assists to 450 tallying a 40-assist effort against Emporia State on Tuesday ... she now has reached the 40-assists plateau four times this season including a career-best 52 against UNK ... over the last three seasons, Conner averaged about 224 assists per year.
• Entering the week Conner has a team-best eight double-doubles on the year.
ALLI TO THE MAX
• In the last five matches, Allison Maxwell has a team-best 60 kills while hitting .243 and is coming off a 15 kill performance on Tuesday against Emporia State.
• Defensively, Maxwell is second in blocks (37) but has been strong at the net of late pacing the Ichabods with 24 over the course of the last five including a career-best nine blocks versus ESU.
MIAA HONORS
On Monday, Washburn swept the MIAA weekly awards for the seventh-time since 2003 as Makayla Maxwell won Hitter of the Week honors, while Shayla Conner claimed Specialist of the Week accolades for the second consecutive week ... the previous six occasions in which Washburn swept the weekly awards was Oct. 1, 2007 (Kate Hampson/Monica Miesner), Oct. 12, 2009 (Hampson/Mollie Lacy), Nov. 15, 2010 (Molly Smith/Hillary Hughes), Sept. 23, 2013 (Abby Whitman/Marissa Cox), Sept. 29, 2014 (Natalie Bates/Leanna Willer), Oct. 26, 2015 (Alyssa Carney/Willer).
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Washburn is 8-0 this season when not playing at Lee Arena, though has only played one true road contest against Lubbock Christian on Sept. 7 ... in the three last seasons, the Ichabods are 37-20 when playing away from Lee Arena including 20-16 mark in true road contests ... since 2002, Washburn is a combined 9-18 when playing in St. Charles and Warrensburg, Mo. ... WU's last road win at UCM wasa five-set decision on Nov. 5, 2016 while its last road win at Lindenwood was a day earlier.

Washburn has been mentioned in 201 all-time AVCA polls ... prior to the Monday's AVCA Division II poll, the Ichabods were last included on Sept. 18, 2017 where they were voted No. 25 ... until last season Washburn was among the Top 25 for 178 consecutive weeks dating back to the final poll in 2003.
50TH SEASON
The 2018-19 academic year marks the 50th season of women's athletics at Washburn University, which began with volleyball, basketball, softball, field hockey and gymnastics. Although, field hockey and gymnastics are no longer available, the offerings for female student-athletes have grown to eight sports with the addition of soccer, tennis, and most cross country and track and field.
