Take A Look Ahead
- The Ichabods will host two matches at home this weekend.
- Washburn will play Nebraska-Kearney at Yager Stadium on Friday, Sept. 20 at 6:00 p.m.Â
- The Ichabods will turn around to defend Yager Stadium against conference rival Emporia State on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2019
- This is the 31st time Washburn soccer will match up against Emporia State.

Last Time Out
- The Ichabods defeated the Thunderwolves 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 10 in Fort Hays, Kan.
- In the first six minutes of the match two Ichabods were able to find the back of the net .
- Emily Michaelis scored the first goal of a corner kick by Paige Ledesma and an assist from Kristen Burns.
- A minute later Josie Rimmer scored the second goal with an assist from Tera Lynch
- The Ichabod defense was led by Kati Sneegas and Michaelis.

Ichabods vs. Lopers
- Under head coach Davy Phillips the Ichabods are 3-1 against Nebraska Kearney and are 1-1 at home.Â
- Last time the Ichabods faced the Lopers at home the Ichabods recorded 12 attempted shots.Â
- Tera Lynch, Olivia Grasso and Paige Ledesma are the only current Ichabods that have scored on Nebraska-Kearney.
- The Ichabods have shutout the Lopers three times in the series history.
- The match up started in 2012, when Nebraska-Kearney joined the MIAA.Â
Ichabods vs. Hornets
- The Ichabods have played Emporia State since the program started in 2003.
- The matchup is called the "Turnpike Tussle" due to the Kansas Turnpike that was built in 1956 that shortened the travel time from Topeka to Emporia using I-335.Â
- The Ichabods are 6-7-3 in first MIAA matches.Â
- Emporia State has been Washburn's first conference game five times in the program's history.Â

Scouting the Lopers
Nebraska-Kearney ranked 10th in the MIAA Preseasons Coaches Poll, right behind Washburn. So far this season the Lopers are 1-1-2. Washburn will be their first MIAA match up the season.Â
The Loper started their season with a tournament at home, the UNK Classic on Sept. 6 and 8. Nebraska-Kearney finished the tournament 0-0-2 tying both MSU-Moorhead and Wayne State 0-0. The Lopers traveled to Colorado to compete in the Western Colorado Invite on Sept. 13 and 15. The team lost the first match to Colorado Mesa 0-1 and won the second game against Western Colorado 1-0.Â
The Lopers have scored one goal so far this season. The goal was scored by senior forward, Maddie Love. This was the winning goal over Western Colorado University on Sept. 15. Love was a leading scorer for the Lopers in 2018, scoring three goals and one assist. She attempted 25 shots and 15 of them were on goal. Another top scorer returning for the squad is Kassidy Kirsch. She had one goal and two assists last season and had 13 attempted shots.Â
The Lopers have attempted 36 shots on goal so far this season and 18 of them have been on goal. Goalkeeper, Allie Prososki, has saved 17 of the 36 shots she has face so far this season.Â
Scouting the Hornets
Emporia State was ranked fourth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll. Last season the team finished 14-61 making it to the first round of the NCAA DII Central Region Tournament. So far this season the Hornets are 3-1-0 with their only lost being their season opener against Rockhurt University on Sept. 6. Emporia lost 3-4 in double overtime. The Hornets collected two shutouts this season against Lindenwood and Midwestern State University. The squad picked up another win over Texas A&M-Commerce winning 2-1.
Freshman forward, Mackenzie Dimarco, has scored for goals so far for the Hornets. Dimarco scored both game winning goals in the matches against Lindenwood and Midwestern State. The 2018 leading scorer for Emporia, Kennedy Hoffman, has also recorded a goal against Rockhurst. Last season Hoffman scored seven goals and tallied three assists for the team. Midfielder, Rachel Marshall, returns to the field for Emporia as well. Marshall tied for most goals with Hoffman in 2018.Â
Goalkeeper, Jillian Patton, is defending the net for Emporia again this season. She has saved 23 of the 51 shots she has faced so far this season. Patton has tallied three wins and one shutout so far this season.
The Hornets will play Fort Hays State on Friday, Sept. 20 before playing Washburn on Sunday, Sept. 22 so these notes and records will not be up to date. Â
