KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ichabod senior forward,
Olivia Grasso, earned her first conference honors of the season by being named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week.
Grasso started and played in all 180 minutes of the Ichabods' two wins this week. She helped the team shut out Nebraska-Kearney on Fri., Sept. 20. Grasso recorded two goals and had one assist in the win over Emporia St. on Sun., Sept. 22. She scored her first goal in the 15th minute of the match off of a free kick from from 40-yards out. Grasso netted the first goal for Washburn to give them a 1-0 lead over the Hornets. Later in the first half, Grasso assisted
Paige Ledesma, who scored the second goal for the Ichabods. In the second half of the match Grasso scored her second goal of the game on a break away. She led the team in points, tallying 5 on the day.
Grasso and the Ichabods hit the road this weekend play the Fort Hays State Tigers on Fri., Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. Washburn will then travel to Kearney, Neb. to face the Lopers on Sun., Sept. 29 at 1:00 p.m. for the first official conference match of the season.
