KEARNEY, Neb. – The Washburn Ichabod men's cross country was eighth at the MIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Kearney Country Club. The Ichabods tallied 218 total points in the race. Washburn will take part in the NCAA Central Regional in two weeks in Joplin, Mo.
David Kibet led the Ichabods with a 16
th-place finish earning MIAA honorable mention honors with a time of 25:22.66.
Collen McLain was 32
nd on the Ichabod squad with a time of 26:12.67.
Gabriel Chinya finished in 44
th-place with a time of 26:35.48.
Keetan Munsell finished in 65
th overall with a time of 27:07.05 and
Brett Kulp was 77
th with a time of 27:40.96.
Gustav Morch was 89
th in a time of 28:20.45 and
Cooper Griffin was 92
nd in a time of 28:29.48.
Nick Petrella was 97
th in a time of 29:30.33.
Pittsburg State took home the team title for the first time in MIAA history with a total of 44 points. Missouri Southern finished second with 66 points followed by Northwest Missouri in third with 94 points. Nebraska Kearney finished fourth with 98 points and Central Missouri rounded out the top-five with 131 points.
