JOPLIN, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabods brought back a top-10 finished at the 31
st Annual Missouri Southern Stampede with a ninth-place showing out of 21 teams in the 8K race. The Ichabods return to action on Friday at the ESU Classic in Emporia.
David Kibet was 14
th out of 251 runners with a time of 25:08.52 beating his previous best on the course of 25:37.9 recorded in 2019.
Collen McLain was 32
nd overall in a time of 25:41.54.
Gabriel Chinya finished 67
th with a time of 26:37.09 and
Ethan Thompson was 88
th with a run of 27:02.67.
Keetan Munsell was 99
th with a time of 27:08.22 and he was followed by
Cooper Griffin in 179
th in a time of 28:44.67.
Nick Petrella was 191
st at 29:09.99.
The Ichabods were sixth out of MIAA squads as Pittsburg State won the race with 53 points followed by Missouri Southern with 74, Nebraska-Kearney with 120, Central Missouri with 217, Emporia State with 228 and Washburn with a score of 276.
