TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabods opened the 2022 calendar year with a school record and eight top-five finishes at the Washburn Rust Buster on Saturday at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. The Ichabods will be back in action next Saturday hosting the All-Kansas Invite.
Romain Henry picked up a win in the 60m hurdles with an NCAA provisional mark of 8.13 while setting a meet record at the same time. Henry also finished second in the 600-yard run with a school-record time of 1:12.76.
Tom Haug finished second in the high jump falling in a jump off after clearning a mark of 2.00m (6-06.75)
Zac Chandler and
Pau Borillo Febrer each had fourth-place finishes as Chandler cleared 4.85m (15-11.00) in the pole vault and Broillo-Febrer was fourth in the long jump with a personal best of 6.64m (21-09.50)
Mitch Miller had a pair of top-five finishes finishing second in the weight throw with a mark of 16.09m (52-09.50) and was third in the shot put at 14.15m (46-05.25).
