TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team picked up eight top-five finishes and 12 personal bests at the Washburn All-Kansas Invitational on Saturday at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. The Ichabods will be back in action Jan. 28-29 at the two-day Washburn Open.
Lyndsay Stinson finished second in the 600-yard with a personal best time of 1:30.58 and
Lily Johnson picked up two top-two finishes by taking second in the 800m in a time of 2:20.60 and then second in the mile in a time of 5:09.14.
Paola Castaldi finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.42m (47-03.75)
Natalie Lanman was fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30m (10-10.00)
Also appearing at the event was Christina Clemons, who participated in the 2020 Tokyo Games in the 100m hurdles, set won and set the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility record in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.01 besting the previous fastest time of 8.40. Clemons also won the 60m in a time of 7.42 setting another IAF record (7.43).
Overall Wichita State won the event with 199 points followed by Cloud County Community College with 104 points. Fort Hays State finished with 98 and Washburn collected 70.5.
