TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabods women's track and field team began the first day of the Washburn Open with a facility record and three school records at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. Day two starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Chia Okoro picked up the win in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:24.10 setting a Washburn record while setting the facility record and the meet record in the process.
Isabella Hohl also set a school record in the 200m with a time of 25.18.
Alysssa Hutcherson finished fifth in the triple jump and broke Washburn's record with a mark of 11.35m (37-03.00).
Paola Castaldi was fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.81m (48-07.25) setting a personal best in the process.
