MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod track and field team opened the 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships at Northwest Missouri with two multi competitors. Day two of action will continue tomorrow.
In the men's heptathlon,
Logan Stock is in fourth place after the first four events on day one while the remaining three events will take place tomorrow. Stock has 2,916 points trailing Hunter Jones from Pittsburg State who had 2,942 points, Nolan Churchman from Fort Hays State who has 3,139 points and Trey Mooney from Pitt State leads the competition with 3,172 points.
Stock was fifth in the opening 60m in a time of 7.33. Stock finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.78m (22-03.00). After placing 10
th in the shot put with a mark of 11.74m (38-06.25), he won the high jump with a mark of 1.99m (6-06.25).
The final three events are the 60m hurdles, the pole vault and the 1000m run.
In the women's pentathlon,
Taylor Grasser recorded 2,649 points recording a personal best by more than 300 points in the event.
Grasser had a time of 10.02 in the 60m hurdles placing 14
th. In the high jump, Grasser had a mark of 1.40m (4-07.00) for a personal best. She recorded a shot put mark of 8.39m (27-06.50). Grasser had a mark of 4.98m (16-04.25) in the long jump and had a personal best in the final event in the 800m in a time of 2:51.35 knocking 14 seconds off her previous best time.
