EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team opened the outdoor portion of the 2022 schedule with day one of the Emporia State Relays. The Ichabods will continue the meet on Saturday at Welch Stadium.
Katharina Götschl had the best finish on opening day with a second-place showing in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 11:42.86.
Paola Castaldi finished seventh in the hammer throw with a school-record mark of 46.58m (152-10) beating the previous mark by nearly three feet.
Alyssa Hutcherson finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.16m (36-07.50) recording a personal best.
Elsa Cozine finished seventh in the 800m in a time of 2:32.35 and
Megan Miller was ninth at 2:32.85 both setting personal bests.
