- Crohn tied Washburn's single-season doubles winning percentage mark of .895 last season
- Kinsey Fields has a career singles record of 18-11 and 44-20 doubles record in three seasons. She has earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention at No. 2 doubles, MIAA Academic Honor Roll three times and was an MIAA Scholar-Athlete

Last Match Recap
WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 59 Ichabods surged past another conference opponent with a 6-1 win over Newman. Washburn women are 5-0 against MIAA opponents.
No. 33 Isabella Martensson and Lara Schmid quickly wrapped up their doubles match against Antonia Ramos and Ana Zeikidze with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Maja Jung and Kinsey Fields grabbed their first ranked win by defeating No. 49 Isabela Bifano and Dana Issabayeva to secure the doubles point.
Marta Torres and Svea Crohn led their doubles match 5-4 before the match was stopped.
In singles competition, Jung gave up just two set points in her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Bifano at the two spot. Cadence Lynn extended the Ichabods' (11-9) lead when she defeated Amber Hands, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles. Crohn sealed the game with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
Schmid won her seventh straight singles match against Ramos, 6-2, 6-1, all after moving to No. 5 singles. Martensson bested Murali, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.
Newman (12-9) denied the Icahbods the sweep with Issabayeva's victory at the top of the lineup.

Scouting the Hornets
- The Hornets are 6-9 overall and 2-4 in the MIAA. Emporia State is currently on a two-match losing streak. Both were sweep
- The team lost two seniors and a graduate student but returns four players and adds five freshmen
- The Hornets lost graduate student Cyrielle Peyroche. She was the only Hornet to have 10 singles wins, and just one of two with 10 doubles wins
- Silvana Caceres was also a huge loss as she went 8-8 in singles and 9-6 in doubles
- Senior Karen Santiago Sanchez returned after her 9-7 singles and 10-6 in doubles in 2020-21. It has not been the same this year as she is 5-8 in singles and 4-10 in doubles
- The freshmen have made the largest impact for the Hornets in 2021-22
- Micaela McSpadden and Paige Stranghoner are both 5-9 in singles. McSpadden is 5-7 in doubles, and Stranghoner is 6-7 in doubles
Hornets Head Coach Les Stafford
- Les Stafford is in his third season head coaching the Hornets' men's and women's tennis programs
- Stafford compiled a 17-20 women's record since being hired before the 2019 season
- He spent 15 years before becoming the head coach as the head tennis pro at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kan.
- Stafford spent 14 seasons as the head coach of the women's program at Wichita State from 1990-2004 and was a four-time conference coach of the year
- He went 178-143 in dual match play with four conference tournament championships and one regular-season title
- Stafford was a four-time NAIA National Tournament qualifier during his career with the Hornets
- He went 20-5 in singles while going 20-6 with Ken Hush in doubles in 1979, as they were the first teammates in District 10 history to qualify for singles at nationals in the same year
- He won the No. 1 singles and No.1 doubles championship at the CSIC Tournament his senior year
- He was the No. 1 ranked singles player in the state of Kansas for seven years and was ranked No. 1 in the state in doubles for 15 years
Ichabods in the Rankings
- The Ichabods' wins over No. 41 Northwest Missouri State and No. 57 Missouri Western pushed them up seven spots in the ITA National Team Rankings to No 59
- Torres is ranked No. 6 in the Central Region
