HAYS, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabods picked up two individual titles and two runner-ups in a weather-shortened FHSU / Alex Francis Classic event on Friday afternoon. The Washburn squad will also be in action on Saturday at the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence.
 
Tyler Smith won the discus with a mark of 34.03m (111-08) setting a personal best while Paola Castaldi finished second in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 53.45m (175-04).
 
Braden Rose won the men's hammer with a mark of 59.20m (194-03) setting a school record while with his NCAA provisional mark. He topped the previous school record by nearly 17 feet.
 
Jaden Magana finished second in the discus with a mark of 48.48m (159-01) recording a new personal best.
