ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Washburn Ichabods finished off day two of the NCAA Division II National Championships sending a hurdler to the Saturday finals and a discus thrower earning second team All-American honors. The three-day championships wrap up on Saturday.
Romain Henry qualified No. 3 overall in the 110m hurdles to move on to Saturday's final which will take place at 1:45 pm. Henry ran a time of 13.91 to finish second in his heat and third overall trailing Pittsburg State's Louis Rollins at 13.61 and West Texas A&M's Jahmaal Wilson at 13.89.
In the discus,
Braden Rose earned second team All-American honors by finishing 10
th with a mark of 50.68m (166-03) which he recorded in his first throw of the meet. After fouling on his second throw he recorded a mark of 49.51m (162-05) on his final throw.
Isabella Hohl wrapped up her NCAA meet finishing 19
th in the 200m preliminary with a time of 24.17.
The Ichabods will have Henry in the 110m hurdles competing on Saturday along with
Virgi Scardanzan and
Rachael Mayberry in the pole vault and
Taylor Gonzales in the 5000m.
